Over the bank holiday weekend, the city of Edinburgh held its annual marathon festival with 5 races from 5k to the full marathon. The Launceston Road Runners annual ‘away’ trip saw 10 of its members take part with a further 5 supporters making the journey.  The half marathon set off at 8am, making the most of the cooler weather. Both races took the runners around Holyrood park before heading out to the coast, up to Musselburgh and beyond with the finish near Musselburgh race course. The marathon at 10.30am meant those runners had the the warmer temperatures and full sun for most of the course. The race was brilliantly organised, with a mostly flat course and lots of support at the finish line. Great performances from everyone who raced and especially from Brian Wiles who came 3rd overall in his age group and from Sarah Worth in her first marathon.
