As a new runner I have been attending the RR Thursday night coached sessions. The coach’s Laura Kevin & Tom have motivated me to return, given me enthusiasm and technique tips. The sessions are great for any ability as you work to your own pace and as one of the slower runners have never been left behind! – Sandra
The training sessions have helped me get a 10k PB today! – Philippa
On the back of a months worth of illnesses, using Laura’s training plan I managed to shave minutes off my pb time in a half marathon. Now back to full fitness I will definitely implement it again prior to my next half marathon. Since the coaches have embarked on their course, Thursday night training sessions have increased in popularity as more runners within the club are seeing improvements in their running, evident in the number of pb’s that are being achieved across all race distances, from 5k to marathon. The coaches training sessions incorporate numerous programmes such as speed and strength sessions, hill running, working on our running styles and even mystery sessions! These sessions accommodate every level of runner from complete novices to the athletes amongst us and are probably the most enjoyable runs i have all week. As a member of the committee and the running club, I would like to say on behalf of Launceston Road Runners, we are very proud of your achievement and not only are we grateful for your knowledge and experience, but for your dedication, effort and time put in to the training sessions that we are benefitting from a great deal. So to any people thinking of joining a running club, come along and see for yourself how good our running sessions are. – Lisa
I was lucky to get a Launceston Road Runners Club place in the 2012 London Marathon. Having done only one previous marathon, I needed to have a proper training plan for this one. With the brilliant help of Laura, Tom & Kevin and their fantastic coaching plans, I ran 26 miles in just over 4 hours and had a brilliant experience too. Well done to all 3 coaches, who’s hard work & commitment made it all possible…thanks! – Andy
Our club coaches approach their role with a real enthusiasm. They provide expertise but more importantly encouragement and motivation to everyone regardless of ability. I feel my running has certainly improved thanks to our club coaches. - Peter
